Steve Werth has represented a broad range of Chapter 7 and 11 trustees, debtors, and creditors in bankruptcy cases and represents parties in a wide variety of bankruptcy litigation matters. His practice focuses on representing Chapter 11 debtors in bankruptcy, and the rights of creditors and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. His experience includes representing clients in industries as diverse as entertainment, import/export and real estate.

Representative Clients
• Represents stalking horse bidders in connection with negotiating and drafting stalking horse purchase agreements and purchasing assets out of Chapter 11 cases
• Advises debtors in workout negotiations with lenders and with preparation for Chapter 11 filings should consensual workouts fail
• Represents and advises creditors' committees regarding how to maximize recoveries in Chapter 11 cases both through litigation and otherwise
• Represents and advises Chapter 7 and 11 trustees in prosecuting avoidance actions including mass (200+) preference actions and ponzi fraudulent transfer actions
• Drafts briefs to District Court, Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on issues including bankruptcy court jurisdiction, creditor/equity dichotomy issues
• Advises clients with respect to intellectual property sale and rejection issues in bankruptcy
